This role requires deep research background, hands-on coding in Java/C++/Python, and the ability to translate business needs into impactful AI systems that scale across Amazon's global advertising platform.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of applied research experience.
• 3+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience.
• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master’s degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval and Analytics.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in STEM, or experience in defining GenAI benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Hire and develop a team of high performing applied scientists for AI solutions.
• You should be technically solid, able to roll up your sleeves, and invent Gen AI solutions.
• Build recommendation systems leveraging generative models for campaigns.
• Mentor and technically lead the scientists on the team.
• Research and apply the latest Gen AI and ML techniques and best practices.
• Use analytical techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems.
• Establish structures enabling the team to deliver results.
