Job summary

Amazon, Seattle, seeks an Applied Scientist for Sponsored Products and Brands to innovate at the intersection of customer experience, deep learning, generative AI, and high-scale ML systems. You will drive real-time insights and impact across advertising surfaces.

You will design, prototype, and deploy GenAI solutions, run rigorous experiments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of AI in shopping experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master’s degree with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.
• Experience using Unix/Linux.
• Experience in professional software development.

Responsibilities

• Leverage Generative AI and LLMs to mine behavioral data and derive shopper insights.
• Design and develop scalable ML and GenAI models for shopper intent and preference.
• Partner with engineering to deploy end-to-end GenAI solutions in production.
• Drive scalability and automation of large-scale model training and real-time inference.
• Design and run rigorous A/B experiments to measure impact of GenAI insights.
• Conduct applied research in novel generative AI techniques to boost shopper experience.
