Job summary

Carroll Community College’s Adult Education program seeks a knowledgeable and energetic instructor to teach an in-person GED® Preparation class in Westminster, MD, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15–12:00. The adjunct instructor is responsible for teaching adult learners with a range of academic skill levels in the area covered on the GED® tests: reading, writing, math, social studies and science.

The ideal candidate has a background in education and experience teaching adults.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience teaching adults is required.
• In-person GED preparation instruction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach an in‑person GED® Preparation class in Westminster, MD.
• Deliver instruction Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9:15–12:00.
• Cover GED test areas: reading, writing, math, social studies and science.
• Maintain a positive learning environment for adult learners.
