Job summary

Howard Community College is seeking a part-time GED Instructor to teach reading, writing, science, history, and math to adult learners pursuing a high school diploma. Position Title

GED Instructor Pool (Part‑time)

Summary

Teach reading, writing, science, history, and/or mathematics to adult students working towards a high school diploma. Classes are offered online or face‑to‑face.

Three principal course terms: Fall (August–December), Spring (January–May), Summer (May–August).

Schedule and Hours

Based on class schedule(s), maximum of 25 hours per week.

Courses offered 9:00‑11:30 a.m. or 6:30‑9:00 p.m., twice a week, Monday through Thursday.

Starting at $38 per hour.

Eligibility and Hiring Policies

• Pre‑employment criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.
• Only employees living in states contiguous to Maryland (Virginia, West Virginia, Washington DC, Pennsylvania) are eligible to work at Howard Community College; relocation should be under the applicant’s own expense.
