Job summary

R.H. Sheppard Co. Inc. in Hanover, PA seeks a Paint Line Worker to prepare gears and parts for shipment in a fast-paced plant. The role includes loading/unloading, masking, and scanning barcodes in AS400 on a 8-hour night shift Sunday through Thursday.

You will follow safety and Lean manufacturing principles, maintain daily checklists, and ensure correct packaging and conveyor handling to support on-time shipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) required.
• One year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in shipping/receiving in a production environment preferred.
• Forklift certification required.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge with emphasis on Standardized Work, 5S, and JIT.

Responsibilities

• Cover/cover installer duties including applying grease under seals and painting arms.
• Loader/unloader duties: hang gears/arms, scan bar codes into AS400, label correctly, and prepare for prepper.
• Masker/painter: shield areas not to be painted and maintain paint booth checklists.
• Unmasker: remove masking after coating and keep paint room clean.
• Prepper: follow AS400 instructions to prep models and apply components as specified.
• Skidder: manage bar codes, load skids, prepare packaging for customers.
• Pre-Torque: verify Pitman arm timing and prepare retainers.
• Pitman Arm Installer: install Pitman Arms and record torque data; read depth gauge.
• Carpenter: prepare skis and construct specialty skids for shipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
