Paint Line Technician — 8-Hour Day Shift

Job summary

RH Sheppard Co Inc is seeking a Paint Line Worker to prepare gears and parts for shipment in a fast-paced setting. You will handle line loading/unloading, masking, and unmasking parts after coating, while maintaining daily checklists for the paint booth area.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and experience in a manufacturing environment. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) are required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience and experience in shipping/receiving in a production environment is required.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Strong problem solving skills are required.
• Must be able to prioritize and work well under pressure.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT.
• Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install cover/cover seals in all steering gears and apply grease when required.
• Move gears/arms from skid to paint line and manage bar code scanning in AS400 system.
• Mask and unmask gears/arms for powder coating; maintain cleanliness in paint booth area.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

One year of experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience in shipping/receiving in a production/manufacturing environment

Completion of forklift certification

Problem solving skills

Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure

Lean Manufacturing techniques: 5S, JIT, standard work
