Job summary

R. H. Sheppard Co. Inc. is seeking a General Assembler to join our production team in Hanover, PA. The role involves assembling steering gear components, reading blueprints, applying torque, and verifying dimensions with gauges on a conveyor-driven line.

You will work with coworkers and machinery, ensuring safety standards (ISO14001) and quality policies (IATF 16949) are followed while meeting daily production targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Knowledge of shop math and blueprint reading preferred.
• Problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in production/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on 5S and JIT preferred.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift from floor, walk and reach frequently.

Responsibilities

• Assemble steering gear components on conveyor system.
• Interpret blueprints and work orders to complete tasks.
• Use gauges and tools to verify tolerances on M-series components.
• Operate equipment to meet production and quality standards.
• Record production counts and perform SPC data collection and analysis.
• Follow ISO14001 safety and IATF 16949 quality policies.
