Job summary

Smith Services, a division of Timken Motor Services, seeks a Mechanic/Fabricator in Princeton, WV for a dayshift role. You will disassemble, inspect, assemble, test power transmission systems, pumps and gearboxes at the Smith Services service center, following customer specifications.

Overtime and weekend work may be required. Qualifications include 5 years of mechanical experience and 3–5 years welding experience, with strong reading of drawings and precision measurement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience.
• 3–5 years welding experience.
• Proficient in multiple craft skills and measuring tools.
• Able to understand drawings and assemble/test per specs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, disassemble, inspect and paint electric motors and drive gearboxes.
• Follow customer specifications during assembly tasks.
• Ensure quality of work sent to the test panel.
• Accurately complete related paperwork.
• Utilize drawings and GD&T to guide work.
• Provide feedback to engineering on discrepancies to prevent recurrence.
• Work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
