Job summary

Timken East Haven Service Center seeks a skilled Mechanic to perform general labor, mechanical and maintenance tasks for electric motors. Responsibilities include assembly, testing, inspection, and painting, with adherence to customer specifications and proper documentation.

The role requires proficiency with precision measurement tools, interpretation of drawings and GD&T, plus the ability to work overtime as needed. High school diploma and 5 years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to measure tight tolerances.
• Proficient in care, installation, adjustment, lubrication, and maintenance of anti-friction bearings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow written, oral or diagram form instructions.
• Mathematical skills including rate, ratio and percent.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, disassemble, inspect and paint electric motors.
• Follow customer specifications for assembly duties.
• Ensure quality of work sent to the test panel.
• Complete related paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
• Interpret drawings, sketches and geometric dimensioning, tolerances, and repair manuals.
• Provide feedback to engineering on discrepancies to resolve problems.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary to meet production demands.
