Job summary

iWorkforce Solutions in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join a fast-paced production team focused on assembling and testing enclosed drive gearboxes. You will read blueprints, measure with calipers, and ensure parts meet quality and safety standards.

The role requires at least one year of mechanical assembly experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of mechanical assembly or industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Material handling experience required.
  • Ability to read assembly blueprints in English.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test enclosed drive gearboxes.
  • Perform gearbox and subassembly assembly operations.
  • Read assembly blueprints and use calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Record measurements and production data accurately.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and make necessary corrections.
  • Maintain organized work areas, equipment, and tools.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the assembly and testing areas.
  • Assist with process improvements and team problem-solving.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
