Technology Navigators in Austin, TX is seeking a Gas Engineering Team Lead to own and optimize specialty and bulk gas equipment in a high-tech manufacturing environment. You will lead a small team of about 9 engineers and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and vendor partners to ensure top-tier equipment performance for manufacturing gas supplies.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities including project planning, startup, commissioning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of direct operations experience with gas/chemical systems.
  • Direct leadership experience preferred; safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Drive safety initiatives and world-class safety performance.
  • Own gas systems, safety standards, and continuous improvement.

Position Summary

The Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Gas Engineering Team Lead role is focused on leading an engineering team that comprehensively owns, maintains, supports, and improves specialty and bulk gas equipment within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

This position leads the engineering team and ensures effective collaboration with operations and maintenance teams, as well as customer groups, to provide world-class equipment performance in the supply of gases supporting manufacturing production.

This role is also responsible for supporting the planning, construction, startup, and commissioning of new equipment, as well as the development and execution of projects to improve safety, quality, and reliability.

Role And Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
  • Lead and directly manage a small team of approximately 9 engineers.
  • Lead and participate in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world-class safety performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership for gas systems, safety and quality standards, and continuous improvement efforts. The engineer will interact with operations teams, maintenance teams, construction teams, and equipment vendors to sustain and maintain equipment.
  • Support technical troubleshooting of emergent equipment issues.
  • Work with maintenance teams to plan and execute non-standard equipment maintenance to address failures or implement equipment improvements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with engineering groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability.
  • Continually drive team culture toward greater learning, development, engagement, and overall job satisfaction.
Skills And Qualifications
Here’s What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of direct operations experience related to gas and/or chemical supply systems, or equipment that utilizes gases and/or chemicals for manufacturing processes.
  • Semiconductor, electronics, advanced manufacturing, or industrial facility support experience preferred, with an emphasis on safety and hazardous process materials.
  • Direct leadership and management experience is strongly preferred.
