Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Gas Maintenance Technician to safeguard and optimize gas and chemical systems across the site. You will perform daily and long-term maintenance, coordinate with project teams, and drive safety and reliability in material supply.

The role requires hands-on experience with gas delivery equipment, pumps, valves, and HMIs, plus a strong safety mindset and collaboration with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 2-year college/technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to coordinate work.
• 9+ years of chemical or gas delivery operations/maintenance experience; semiconductor facility support preferred.
• Experience with pumps, valves, HMIs, piping distribution systems.
• Familiarity with design and installation of gas and chemical equipment including piping systems.

Position Summary

As the GCS (Gas & Chemical Systems) Gas Maintenance Technician at Samsung you will be responsible for safe maintenance of gas and chemical systems used to supply materials to the site. This includes ensuring maintenance and projects meet site needs, and continuously improving in these areas of a world-class team. In this position, you are responsible for executing tasks focused on daily and long term equipment management. You will achieve outstanding execution and safety performance in daily 24/7 maintenance of gas and chemical supply systems. You will coordinate with project teams to develop and execute projects to expand capacity, and improve safety and reliability in material supply. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to maintain and improve equipment performance. You will be a champion of safety and world’s-best performance in all work.

Role And Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Perform maintenance needs of gas and chemical systems in the field.
• Track and support startup, commissioning, and decommissioning activities for supply systems.
• Support and participate in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance.
• Troubleshoot, down to root cause and provide technical report to the maintenance lead.
• Drive improvements in work processes, equipment and part management, employing lean principles effectively.
• Support management of CMMS for all assets, drive on-time PM (preventative maintenance) completion, provide input for improving PM strategies.
• Serve as an ideal representative of the department when interfacing with Fab Engineering customers.

Skills And Qualifications

Here’s what you'll need:

• 2 Year of college/technical school or equivalent related experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to represent the group in work coordination and execution.
• 9+ years of chemical or gas delivery operations and/or maintenance experience; semiconductor facility support preferred.
• Experience with pumps, valves, HMIs, piping distribution systems.
• Familiarity with design and installation of gas and chemical equipment including piping systems and facility support equipment.

The current base salary range for this role is between $41.00 - $55.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
