Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Operations Manager to lead a Linux and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) operations team. This hybrid role requires guiding daily operations, incident response, and automation efforts while aligning with Vanguard's multi-cloud strategy across locations in Malvern, PA and Charlotte, NC.

The ideal candidate has eight+ years in infrastructure/cloud operations, strong Linux expertise, and experience in DevOps/SRE practices.

Qualifications

Eight years of related work experience minimum.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Five+ years in infrastructure, cloud operations, DevOps, SRE, or related technical discipline with team leadership experience.
Proven Linux systems administration in production environments.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar hyperscale cloud environments.

Responsibilities

Lead a geographically distributed team of ~10 engineers responsible for Linux and GCP infrastructure.
Oversee daily production operations: monitoring, alerts, provisioning, incidents, and service restoration.
Provide technical leadership across Linux, Google Cloud, automation, and cloud operations.
Guide the team through high-priority incidents and complex troubleshooting.
Improve reliability, availability, scalability, security, and operational readiness of cloud and Linux environments.
Advance DevOps/SRE practices: IaC, observability, automation, and continuous improvement.
Support adoption of GCP capabilities including Google Gemini models and AI-enabled solutions.
Develop team capabilities through coaching and mentorship.
Collaborate with AWS, Azure, security, and other tech teams for multi-cloud standards.
