Job summary
Vanguard is seeking a Senior DevOps/SRE leader to guide a distributed team responsible for Linux and Google Cloud Platform operations. You will oversee production, incident response, and provisioning while driving automation and IaC across multi-cloud environments.
You will mentor engineers, foster observability, and collaborate with AWS, Azure, and security teams to improve resiliency and efficiency, including AI/ML cloud capabilities support.
Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years related work experience.
- Experience leading technical teams in infrastructure, cloud operations, DevOps or SRE.
- Production experience with Linux systems and GCP or comparable hyperscale cloud.
Responsibilities
- Lead a geographically distributed team of ~10 engineers responsible for Linux and GCP operations.
- Oversee daily production operations, monitoring, alerts, provisioning, incidents, and service restoration based on impact.
- Provide technical leadership across Linux, Google Cloud, automation, and cloud operations.
- Mentor engineers, coach capabilities, and expand cloud expertise within the team.
- Drive DevOps and SRE practices: IaC, automation, observability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with AWS, Azure, security, and other tech teams to align multi-cloud standards.
- Support AI/ML cloud platforms and Gemini-related capabilities as they relate to operations.
- Evaluate trends and opportunities to improve resiliency and reduce manual effort.
