Job description

We seek a highly motivated, technology-focused individual passionate about improving and simplifying Ford’s highly complex global infrastructure environment across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), on-premises data centers, and distributed locations in all major regions.

Responsibilities

1. You will work with Technology and Software Platform teams to provide solutions for cloud infrastructure across the Ford Enterprise, including hosting, computing, databases, and networks.
2. Define, analyze, assemble, and integrate components to deliver infrastructure patterns for the business, including consideration for platforms, software, availability, scalability, and reliability.
3. Design, build, and maintain GCP infrastructure to support applications and services with high performance, scalability, and security.
4. Collaborate with teams to integrate GCP services into overall IT architecture.
5. Stay current with GCP technologies, AI, and best practices, providing recommendations for improvement.
6. Develop, advise, and document GCP infrastructure and deployment processes, including REST API, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, using tools like Jenkins, Kubernetes, and containers.
7. Monitor and optimize GCP resource performance; troubleshoot issues.
8. Support technical design, documentation, and maintain communication with relevant teams.
9. Ensure security and compliance of GCP environment, including identity and access management, and implement serverless, container, and infrastructure security solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of IT or related experience with increasing responsibility.
• 5+ years working with cloud-native GCP and hybrid environments, designing and managing GCP infrastructure.
• 3+ years scripting and automation (Python, Bash, etc.).
• 3+ years application development experience (Java, Springboot, Python).
• 2+ years with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
