Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest in Tustin, CA seeks a Chemist I - GCMS to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols.

The role requires GC/GCMS experience, a chemistry degree, and the ability to work shift Mon-Fri 1:00pm-10:00pm after training, with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience operating GC or GCMS in a production lab.
• BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years lab experience may substitute for a degree.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a production environment.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Extract and prepare samples for GCMS analysis.
• Evaluate chromatography and mass spectra for qualitative and quantitative criteria.
• Monitor backlog and ensure timely processing of client programs.
• Upload and peer review data using LIMS.
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and calibration as per QA/QC.
• Prepare standards and reagents for analyses.
• Maintain instrument calibrations according to QA/QC.
• Communicate with preparation and project management teams on status.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
