Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest, Calscience in Tustin CA is seeking a VOA GC Chemist I to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols within Eurofins QA programs.

The role requires 1+ years GC experience, a BS/BA in chemistry or related field, and strong English communication. Shift is full-time with potential OT and a 10% Saturday-Wednesday shift differential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years operating a GC in an academic or production lab.
• BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years lab experience may substitute for degree.
• Previous production-oriented work is a plus (meeting deadlines).
• Effective time management and multitasking.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and formulas.
• Ability to work independently following instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare water and soil samples for GC analysis.
• Evaluate chromatography for qualitative and quantitative criteria.
• Manage backlog to meet client program requirements.
• Upload and peer review data in LIMS.
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and calibration checks.
• Prepare standards and reagents for analysis.
• Maintain instrument calibrations per QA/QC requirements.
• Keep the lab clean and organized.
• Perform duties safely and in compliance with EH&S programs.
• Perform other lab duties as assigned.
