Job Duties
- Provide technical analysis support for dimensional gauges and measurement equipment under general supervision.
- Perform calibration of various measurement operations using precise equipment.
- Manage the gauge out-of-tolerance program to mitigate risks.
- Achieve financial goals, including revenue targets and cost control.
- Periodically audit gauge records, correct discrepancies, and participate in safety and housekeeping audits of the gauge area.
- Serve as a technical liaison with internal customers, develop measurement plans, interpret measurement results, and consult on metrology issues.
- Calibrate equipment such as magnetic particle testers, CMMs, heat treat furnaces, dead weight testers, gauge block comparators, and penetrant testing equipment, including managing calibration and non-conformance reports.
- Perform complex repairs and calibrations of test and measurement instruments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least three years of experience in Gauge Calibration and Repair, including repair of dimensional measurement equipment.
- Basic math skills, strong computer skills, problem-solving, organization, repair and calibration expertise, and a solid understanding of gauge and measurement systems.
- Ability to interpret federal and manufacturer specifications and calibration procedures.
- Experience measuring and calculating calibration uncertainties.
- Ability to perform calibration round robin studies and calibrate premium thread connections such as API, OECO, and Nippon Steel.
- Proficiency in calibrating gauge block sets and demonstrating traceability to NIST standards.
- Support skills for calibration infrastructure, including software maintenance and lab environment upkeep.
