Job summary

Fogo de Chão in New York seeks a Gaucho Chef to expertly prepare and grill traditional churrasco-style meats. You will guide portions, garnishes, and presentation in the authentic Brazilian gaucho tradition.

Responsibilities include cooking beef and other meats, maintaining grill area cleanliness, and assisting guests with churrasco knowledge. Weekend and holiday availability is required; full-time benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to transport objects up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
• Experience in preparing and cooking churrasco-style beef and other meats is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook special cuts of beef and other meats according to traditional Brazilian churrasco recipes.
• Season and grill food according to prescribed traditional method and to guests’ specific requests.
• Portion, garnish and present to patron in style of Brazilian gaucho.
• Answer guests’ questions concerning churrasco-style food and Brazilian gaucho culture.
• Maintain cleanliness of the grill area.
• Complete any beginning or closing shift duties.
