Job summary

DHL Express is seeking a Gateway Clearance Supervisor to verify tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of shipments to/from foreign destinations. The role includes reviewing invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to ensure compliance with federal and international regulations.

The supervisor will lead customs clearance activities, oversee ~30 staff, and drive policy adherence, KPI achievement, and efficient operations across DHL facilities.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a related field, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of federal and foreign regulations governing shipments.

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates customs clearance activities efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Ensures compliance with regulations governing shipment, receipt, and documentation.
• Establishes and updates policies for customs clearance operations.
• Maintains adherence to policies and service standards.
• Meets KPI targets for assigned product.
• Supervises ~30 staff with two direct reports; hires, coaches, trains, and develops staff.
• Assigns work, sets deadlines, and reviews performance.
