Job summary

Denali Universal Services in Texas seeks a Security Sergeant to supervise the security workforce at the main gate post, ensuring compliance with contract scope, policies, and laws. The role is a working supervisor and requires leadership, training, and incident reporting skills.

The position may require weekend/evening shifts and involvement in emergency responses, with a focus on professionalism, safety, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of prior experience in military, law enforcement, corrections, or private security.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• State Unarmed Security Officer License may be required prior to employment.
• Ability to lead with professionalism, respect and integrity.
• Ability to teach and train others.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong decision making and incident/event management skills.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and a post-offer physical evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all DUS and client policies, procedures, and work rules.
• Coordinate security operations at the job site under the direction of the Security Captain and Lieutenant.
• Ensure all required paperwork is completed by the end of the shift and turned into the Captain.
• Apply knowledge of access control and physical protection to deter trespassers, sabotage, vandalism, theft, fire, and accidents.
• Write operational and administrative reports detailing incidents or events.
• Ensure assigned equipment, vehicles, uniforms, and gear are properly worn and maintained.
• Schedule personnel and coordinate staffing adjustments to meet manpower requirements.
• Supervise on-the-job training of security personnel and ensure training requirements are met.
• Maintain high performance standards and provide coaching, recognition, and discipline as needed.
• Evaluate officer performance and feedback on reports and duties.
• Assist with emergency response activities as requested.
• Maintain composure in stressful or emergency situations.
• Promote a respectful and professional workplace free of harassment.
• Ensure safety programs are followed by all security staff.
• Be available for back-up support as needed.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle in various settings and weather conditions.
• May work weekends/evenings as required.
• Willing to perform other duties as required.
