Job summary

Professional Transportation, Inc. (PTI) seeks a Gate Administrator to manage and coordinate gate activity at the customer facility in Silver Bow, MT.

You will inspect equipment, verify credentials, and ensure safe entry and exit for vehicles, employees and customers using handheld scanners and desktop applications. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, be able to maintain eRail credentials, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Maintain eRail certification credentials as required by the railroad.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in all outdoor conditions including rain, snow, ice, heat, wind and cold.
• Ability to travel throughout the yard or facility by walking or driving as needed.
• Must be able to see and hear moving equipment for safety.
• Basic computer skills and general technology proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness and organization within the intermodal facility, paying attention to ground surfaces (potholes, debris, slippery conditions).
• Visually inspect IDs of all entrants and announce visitors entry onto the property.
• Use handheld devices safely; verify and scan driver missions in-gate and out-gate to keep inventory accurate.
• Inspect in-gating equipment for damages and document findings.
• Direct third-party drivers and customers to designated locations.
• Understand outbound destinations and modify destination restrictions as needed.
• Administrative duties: answer phones, assist employees/customers, coordinate with management, ensure compliance with rules.
• Gate locking and crash protection secured as warranted.
• General housekeeping as needed.
