Job summary

GE Vernova’s Houston-based Manufacturing Engineer (Gate 1 – Disassembly) drives safe, efficient front-end disassembly of aero engine components, ensuring proper teardown and defect identification to enable downstream gates.

The role supports 160+ engines/year and 400+ modules/year, providing direct technical support to 180+ shop-floor personnel and focusing on eliminating delays and improving turnaround time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years in manufacturing or MRO environment.
• Strong problem-solving and rapid issue closure.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced shop floor setting.
• Excellent cross-functional communication across organization levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical support to shop floor during disassembly operations.
• Maintain daily shop floor presence to assist technicians.
• Document defects during teardown to prevent downstream escapes.
• Resolve engineering issues rapidly to avoid delays in shop flow.
• Validate tooling and documentation to ensure process readiness.
• Lead Lean initiatives to reduce turnaround time and waste.
• Maintain and update work instructions aligned with OEM manuals.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and tooling/vendors.
• Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Manage tooling and process-related projects and budgets.
