Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Gastroenterology Technician II to provide advanced technical support during endoscopic procedures (ERCP and EUS) and assist in training junior technicians. The role includes preparing rooms, maintaining supplies, and aiding physicians in procedures, with 24/7 on-call coverage for emergencies.

The incumbent will help educate Gastroenterology Technician I/II staff and participate in the on-call rotation, ensuring high-quality patient care and procedural efficiency

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Specialized and/or advanced clerical technical or other vocational training acquired during 1-2 years of additional job-related training required.
• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians during endoscopic procedures with biopsies and scope advancement.
• Provides advanced technical support for ERCP and EUS under physician direction.
• Prepares room and maintains supplies for procedures as needed.
• Troubleshoots minor equipment problems and refers major issues to Biomedical Engineering.
• Provides patient support and post-operative instructions.
