Job Summary

The Gastroenterology Technician I (GT I) perform a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT I demonstrate personal and professional effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
• Certificate: Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Work Experience: One (1) year of patient care experience.
