Job summary

Avera McKennan is seeking a compassionate team member to assist the Gastroenterology team during pre-, intra-, and post-procedure steps. The role includes room setup, scope cleaning, and keeping supplies stocked to support efficient patient care.

You will help with patient positioning and monitoring, ensure proper equipment is ready, and manage inventory to maintain smooth procedure flow. This is a day-shift, on-site position at the Avera Louise Health Campus in Sioux Falls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure room prior to GI cases and set up equipment.
• Assist GI staff with pre-, intra-, and post-procedure tasks.

• Assist with patient positioning and connection to monitors.
• Restock supplies and manage GI equipment inventories.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponds and assists the Gastroenterologist and the Registered Nurse by providing assistance to professional staff of GI during the pre-procedure, procedure or post procedure period. This position will assist with procedure room set-up, scope cleaning and scope maintenance, as well as entering and maintaining inventory control.What you will doPrepares the room for procedures in a timely fashion. This may include: organizing appropriate equipment and needed procedure tools; setting up quickly and accurately for cases; assuring proper and adequate equipment for all cases.Maintains efficiency in handling equipment at physician's request.Verifies specimens with Physician and Registered Nurse.Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of equipment and tools.Maintains clinical skills as required/documented in unit specific competency based criteria.Assists in positioning patient or equipment for procedure as well as hooking the patient up to the patient monitor.Assists with requisition of supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services and prepare related forms.Cleans and maintains GI equipment.Keeps stock and equipment inventories.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
