Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an experienced Gastroenterologist at the Bay Pines location. The role involves outpatient gastroenterology, endoscopy, inpatient consultation, and on-call duties.

The candidate will supervise PAs, ANPs, and residents, review clinical performance, and participate in teaching and committee activities. Candidates should have an MD/DO with GI residency training and be eligible for Gastroenterology board certification.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship or eligible per VA policy
• MD/DO degree from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in US
• Residency training in an approved core specialty
• Board certification/eligibility in Gastroenterology preferred
• English proficiency: spoken and written

Responsibilities

• Supervise PAs, APNs and residents with annual performance reviews
• Review medical records, patient care, prescriptions and consultations
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and committees
• Manage outpatient GI clinic and endoscopy services; inpatient consults
• Work schedule: Mon–Fri 8:00am–4:30pm; on-call as required
