Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in New York seeks a Gastroenterologist certified in general GI endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy) and GI consultations for a mainly clinical role.

The GI program collaborates with Mount Sinai fellowship and Internal Medicine programs, and the attending will supervise GI fellows and residents. The position offers a comprehensive rewards package, on-site work at the Bronx VA, and potential involvement in research.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
• Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology with board eligibility or certification preferred.
• US citizenship or eligible for VA appointment per policy; valid medical license in the US is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide GI clinical care including endoscopic procedures (EGD and colonoscopy) and GI consultations.
• Supervise and mentor GI fellows and teach medical residents.
• Share evening/weekend on-call duties for GI emergencies and urgent consults.
• Collaborate with Mount Sinai GI fellowship and Internal Medicine programs.
• Participate in research opportunities and contribute to the VA Total Rewards program.
