Job summary

Penn Medicine's Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in Philadelphia seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our ambulatory clinic. The APP will provide direct and indirect care for GI diseases, work within a collaborative multi-disciplinary model, and grow professionally within Penn Medicine's clinical, research, and education missions.

Candidates must hold ACLS, BLS, NCCPA/PA certification; valid PA licensure and prescriptive authority; and a Master’s degree (MSN/DNP).

Qualifications

• ACLS certification required for acute care.
• BLS/CPR required for ambulatory setting.
• AANPCB/NCCPA Board Certification required.
• PA CRNP/PA licensure required.
• PA Prescriptive Authority required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct clinical care for patient population according to established protocols.
• Maintains accurate and confidential medical records in the EHR.
• Identifies self properly to the patient and clarifies the NP/PA role.
• Functions within scope and refers to the collaborating physician when outside scope.
• Performs interventions for assigned patient population.
• Participates in performance improvement processes.
• Precepts NP/PA students and learners.
• Addresses patient and family concerns and builds therapeutic relationships.
• Provide patient education, counseling and instruction.
• Support accreditation, compliance and regulatory activities.
