Job summary

Atrium Health in Huntersville, NC is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the Gastroenterology and Hepatology team. The role includes patient intake, vital signs, specimens, basic procedures, vaccinations, and medication administration, with a focus on safety and quality care.

Hours are 40 per week, Mon-Fri 8:30-5pm, with a sign-on bonus eligibility for qualified candidates. A high school diploma and completed MA program or DD214/EMT are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Completion of structured military training (DD214) in lieu of medical assistant program or EMT may be accepted.
• Certification requirements include AHA BLS and CMA/RMA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and department policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, medical history, screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA waived testing.
• Administers medications and vaccines following the rights of medication administration.
• Maintains a clean work environment and assists with training of teammates.
