Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the 02130 GCMG Gastroenterology and Hepatology team in the Greater Charlotte area. The role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, managing history and screenings, and supporting procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of a formal program is acceptable.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting within the last five years may be required depending on division.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties incl. venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per medication rights.
• Maintains a clean, stocked work environment and supports training and onboarding.
