Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in North Carolina is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Elkin gastroenterology clinic. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with a pay range of $22.90–$34.35 per hour.

You will perform rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, lab duties, injections and eligibility tasks, support providers, and maintain CLIA-compliant procedures. Must have MA program graduation and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• PEARS may be required within 1 year in select areas.
• Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment.
• Demonstrates professional governance, safety coach, super-user, vaccine coordinator, SPICE or OSHA/IP certificate holder for unit.
• Achieves 6 points from the list of additional market responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, medication reconciliation, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties and POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely following administration rights.
• Manages refills, authorizations, messaging, scheduling and referrals.
• Maintains clean environment and ensures supplies/equipment readiness.
• Could assist with training and onboarding of teammates.
• Shows age-appropriate patient care and growth/development understanding.
