Job summary

The University of Chicago Medical Center in Orland Park is seeking a Medical Assistant for the OBGYN Clinic. This 100% onsite role supports patient care under RN or physician supervision, performing duties from vital signs to specimen collection in a modern outpatient setting.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, a certified Medical Assistant program, and BLS. Proficiency with EPIC and clerical tasks is a plus, with a focus on patient education and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or GED from an accredited school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Phlebotomy training.
• Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and transport supplies.
• Proficiency in PC: Excel, Word, EPIC a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs for patients.
• Assist with patient examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis and hemoccults.
• Document all aspects of patient care per hospital policies.
• Administer medications as ordered by physician or APN.
• Prepare, label, and log specimens per standards.
