Job summary

Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, ME is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Gastroenterology team. The role involves assisting with patient examinations and procedures, preparing patients, and obtaining vital signs and histories to ensure smooth clinic flow.

You will work with physicians and nurses to maintain high-quality patient care, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred with MA-related training.
• Current certification: AAMA/NHA/AMT/NCCT; BLS required or obtained within 30 days of start.
• Six months MA experience or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.
• Ability to document accurately and adhere to clinical safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare patients for visits and obtain vital signs and histories.
• Support care coordination and documentation throughout the patient experience.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure quality care.
