Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a private gastroenterology practice in Honolulu. Primary front-office duties include scheduling, patient intake, phone communication, EMR documentation, and medication reconciliation, with clinical support as needed.

The ideal candidate has MA experience and strong scheduling skills, particularly for GI appointments. This full-time contract role offers a consistent schedule and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Proficient in EMR documentation and patient data entry.
• Experience scheduling GI-related appointments preferred.
• Experience with medication reconciliation and patient intake.
• Comfortable taking patient vital signs and collecting vitals data.
• Two-step TB test required or TB Quantiferon preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule GI-related patient appointments and procedures.
• Handle incoming calls and patient inquiries.
• Perform patient intake and update medical records.
• Verify and update medication lists; conduct medication reconciliation.
• Take patient vitals and document in EMR; assist with procedure prep.
