Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED or medical assistant diploma or college course in medical assisting.
• Experience: Minimum one year in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or externship in a medical office.
• Experience in Gastroenterology practice preferred; Level I status allows entry with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and routine clinical tasks.
• Check schedules and organize patient flow; accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms.
• Take vital signs, collect specimens, chart and perform screenings per provider guidelines.
• Handle clerical tasks: scheduling, insurance verification, and chart management.
• Provide patient education and communicate instructions to patients and families.
• Participate in emergency response and maintain patient rights and privacy.
