Job summary

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (Gastroenterology) at Fort Hood Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center will evaluate patients, develop and implement GI treatment plans, and coordinate care with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, hands-on gastroenterology experience, and a commitment to safe, evidence-based patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings. Flexible shifts and full privileging/credentialing will be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from ACEN/CCNE accredited program.
• Minimum 3 years of post-licensure gastroenterology experience in the last 4 years.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Advanced Nurse Practitioner license.
• Board certification in ANP/ACNP/AGACNP with GI experience as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes and treats GI diseases and injuries.
• Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Completes outpatient records, progress notes, and clinic documentation.
• Provides emergency services when physician unavailable and performs lifesaving procedures.
• Maintains adherence to GI policies and protocols.
