Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs in Shreveport, LA, seeks a Gastroenterologist with board certification to lead GI services and endoscopy here. You will supervise fellows, deliver comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology and perform advanced endoscopy procedures.

The role includes collaboration with LSU Health Sciences Center faculty, a Monday–Friday schedule, and participation in education loan repayment programs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Board certification in Gastroenterology
• Completion of residency in an approved program leading to eligibility for board certification
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• US citizenship requirement or eligible per VA policy

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and teach GI fellows and residents.
• Manage diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic gastroenterological and endoscopic services.
• Perform upper and lower endoscopy, including bleeding control, polypectomy, EMR, PEGS and dilation.
• Work closely with health professionals across the medical center and provide consultation to other services.
• Faculty appointment at the affiliated Louisiana State University Health and Science Center.
• Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
