Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs—El Paso VA Health Care System is seeking a Gastroenterologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat GI tract disorders. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program and Recruitment/Relocation incentives for highly qualified candidates.

Responsibilities include outpatient care, endoscopic procedures, and leadership when needed. Strong preference for board-certified Gastroenterology and full US licensure.

Qualifications

• Must meet basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement.
• Applicants pending training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a US state/territory/DC.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care and treatment to outpatients.
• Perform history and physical examination related to GI tract, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary system.
• Evaluate, diagnose and medically manage GI diseases and conditions.
• Perform endoscopic procedures to visualize and treat GI systems: Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, enteroscopy, EUS, foreign body removal.
• Lead and coordinate service operations and staff communications as needed.
