Job summary

Westfield Gas + Electric seeks an energetic, self-motivated Utility Service Technician to serve a tight-knit community. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining gas appliances, meters, and telecommunication equipment, with duties including leak detection and Dig Safe coordination.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in natural gas heating equipment repair.
Alternate two year formal certification in HVAC installation, troubleshooting, and repair may be substituted.
Knowledge of TSCA and DEP rules and regulations.
NEGA Qualified Operator within six (6) months of appointment.
Excellent written and verbal English communication and ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, adjust and replace gas appliances and piping.
Detect and repair leaks on appliances and piping; perform emergency maintenance.
Inspect, test, and maintain gas and electric metering equipment and related devices.
Locate underground natural gas, telecommunications and electric facilities for Dig Safe.
Recordkeeping: develop and maintain work records and reports; prepare work orders.
