Job summary

Westfield Gas + Electric is seeking an energetic Utility Service Technician to install, repair and maintain gas appliances and metering equipment. This role involves leak detection, emergency response, and routine inspections in a tight‑knit community setting.

The candidate should have at least five years in natural gas heating equipment repair, with HVAC certification as an acceptable substitute. Strong safety, documentation, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years experience in natural gas heating equipment repair.
• HVAC certification can substitute for experience if two years are completed.
• Ability to perform emergency operations effectively and expeditiously.
• NEGA Qualified Operator within six months of appointment.
• Strong customer service skills and team participation.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, test, inspect and maintain gas appliances and meters.
• Detect and repair leaks on appliances and distribution system.
• Perform emergency maintenance and respond to calls outside normal hours.
• Maintain records and prepare reports and work orders.
• Coordinate with contract crews and report abnormal conditions as needed.
