Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. is hiring a Construction & Maintenance Technician I (SGL3) in Hot Springs, AR to support installation, repair and maintenance of natural gas distribution lines.

This entry-level field position requires outdoor work, handling heavy tools, and responding to emergencies alongside a DOT program. Responsibilities include operating vehicles and equipment, using hand/power tools, and complying with safety, training, and testing policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work outdoors daily in all weather conditions.
• Must be available to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, or replace steel and plastic pipe.
• Provide First Responder assistance in emergencies.
• Load and unload required equipment, tools, and supplies onto and from truck.
• Use a variety of hand tools and power tools for field work.
• Operate a motor vehicle and the ability to enter/exit vehicle unassisted.
• Handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work in variable weather conditions for extended periods.
• Noise and safety precautions in a field environment.
• Subject to DOT drug testing.
