Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Training Technician at Buck Steam Station in Salisbury, NC. The role involves learning and performing start-up, shutdown, monitoring, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance across plant systems with a strong safety focus.

Responsibilities include operations, maintenance on substation equipment, LOTO procedures, and reading OEM manuals. Candidates should read engineering drawings and be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required with strong technical aptitude.
• Associates degree or equivalent technical training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and balance plant functions at the facility.
• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on substation equipment.
• Follow Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures for safety and compliance.
• Maintain safety, environmental, and equipment records as required.
• Read and understand OEM manuals and warranty agreements.
• Operate water treatment systems and assist with plant equipment.
• Read technical mechanical, civil, and electrical drawings.
• Readiness to travel 5-15% for training and cross-site support.
