Siemens Energy, Inc. is seeking a Thermal Systems Engineer in Charlotte, NC to apply fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and CFD to improve the performance and reliability of advanced gas turbines. You will collaborate with a global team to solve challenging technical problems and support new product development.

The role emphasizes modeling cooling flows, temperatures, and turbine behavior, with opportunities to work across engineering, manufacturing, and service teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 0–2+ years in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer or thermal systems.
• Experience with engineering simulations, modeling or CFD is a plus.
• Exposure to gas turbines, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, aerospace, or energy systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or similar is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and teamwork skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal-fluid, heat transfer, and CFD analysis for gas turbine systems.
• Develop models to predict cooling air flow, component temperatures, and turbine thermal behavior.
• Analyze turbine clearances and thermal growth to support design optimization.
• Use simulation results and operational data to improve product performance and reliability.
• Support new product development, technology upgrades, and fleet improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, service, and project teams around the world.
