Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Gas Systems Engineering Manager (GCS) responsible for all aspects of gas supply to the site. You will lead multiple engineering teams, ensure safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in 24/7 operations, and guide projects to expand capacity and upgrade material supply infrastructure.

Role requires 8+ years in facilities/semiconductor engineering, 4+ years leading equipment teams, and strong executive-level presentation skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in facilities or semiconductor engineering.
• 4+ years of experience leading equipment engineering teams in a large scale manufacturing environment.
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to personally represent the group in all matters to executive levels (internal and external).

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives and programs to drive world-class safety performance.
• Oversee capital and capacity projects, including design and equipment selection for large-scale supply systems.
• Drive improvements in equipment and part management using lean principles.
• Represent the department to external groups and agencies.
• Collaborate with operations teams responsible for gas and chemical supply.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for planned and unplanned maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes (PSM/RMP).
• Develop and manage annual expense budgets.
• Support commercial negotiations and terms related to services and projects.
• Collaborate with material-focused departments to optimize material use and cost.
• Lead safety and quality projects to improve system performance and reliability.
• Promote learning, development, and high job satisfaction.
