Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, seeks a Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Chemical Engineering Section Leader to lead a small team of engineers and own chemical operations, supporting startup and commissioning of new equipment for Hazardous Process Materials systems.

You will interact with on-site operations, maintenance, and vendors to sustain and improve equipment, safety and system reliability while guiding capacity and end-of-life projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct operations experience related to gas/chemical supply systems.
• Direct leadership/management of teams responsible for operation and maintenance of chemical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct manage a small team of engineers (~10).
• Drive safety initiatives and world-class safety performance.
• Own chemical systems, safety, quality standards and improvements; interface with operations, maintenance, construction and vendors.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure regulatory compliance (PSM/RMP).
• Plan and execute non-standard maintenance; support capacity expansion projects.
• Coordinate with Fab Engineering for safety, quality and reliability improvements.
