Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to all team members.
  • Implement strategies to improve customer service, increase store sales, and ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
  • Maintain store appearance focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and company standards.
What You'll be Doing:
  • Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, and hiring processes to meet operational needs.
  • Promote career development through succession planning, identifying training needs, and participating in promotion decisions.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding employee discharge.
  • Oversee P&L, sales targets, and shrink management for the department.
  • Model exceptional customer service and promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
  • Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
  • Ensure thorough training for all team members.
  • Spend significant time within the store engaging with customers and team members.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least one year of management experience.
  • Experience in various store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, and customer service.
  • Strong communication skills for clear and effective team guidance.
