Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Service Technician I/II/III to perform installation, maintenance, and customer service duties on natural gas facilities within the Piedmont region. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with 49 CFR Part 192, and efficient, courteous service to customers.

The position requires outdoor work in varying weather, a valid driver’s license (CDL within 6 months where required), and the ability to obtain CDL medical card.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience using construction tools and mechanical concepts is essential.
• Experience with PCs (Windows) is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform work assignments on customer premises and interact professionally with customers.
• Record information using technology devices and company systems.
• Drive a company vehicle and coordinate materials for work.
• Install and service natural gas meters and related devices.
• Inspect and protect appurtenances from corrosion and read meters.
• Respond to emergencies and contribute to safety and reliability of gas service.
