Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Service Technician I to install and maintain natural gas facilities across transmission and distribution systems. You will work outdoors, interact with customers professionally, read meters, install meters, and document work performed.

Role requires basic mechanical aptitude, tool use, and the ability to obtain a CDL medical card within 6 months. Weekend shifts and emergency response are possible.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with basic mechanical concepts and tools.
• PCs in Windows environment experience.
• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain CDL medical card within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer premises work and explain policies.
• Read meters and install/repair meters and piping.
• Identify materials and order supplies for jobs.
• Respond to gas leaks and emergency orders.
