Job summary

Atmos Energy is seeking a field service worker to support gas service connections, disconnections, and basic repairs. The role includes reading meters, installing wireless meter equipment, and assisting with safety-related emergencies in diverse weather conditions.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to learn safety procedures and DOT- PHMSA requirements. This is a hands-on position with shift and stand-by duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Operator Qualifications (OQ) and on-the-job training.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.
• Strong communication skills with customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic work using clearly prescribed procedures.
• Responds to customer service requests including connections and disconnections.
• Informs customers of needed repairs and ensures satisfaction.
• May disconnect service and pursue delinquent collections.
• Installs, programs, and operates Wireless Meter Reading equipment.
• Assists with emergencies involving natural gas safety.
• Completes and maintains accurate records and reports for compliance.
• May read meters for billing.
• May hold stand-by duty and work shifts including holidays.
• Ensures safe operation of company vehicles and equipment.
• Follows Safety Manual and participates in safety training.
